Migrating Bookmarks Across Browsers
Switching browsers can be tedious if you lose your link directory. Fortunately, migrating bookmarks from Google Chrome to Apple Safari is a standard process. Here is how to execute it on macOS and Windows.
Step 1: Export Bookmarks from Google Chrome
- Launch Google Chrome and click the three-dot menu at the top-right corner.
- Navigate to Bookmarks > Bookmark Manager (or press Ctrl+Shift+O on Windows / Cmd+Option+B on Mac).
- Click the three-dot menu at the top-right of the Bookmark Manager page and select Export Bookmarks.
- Choose a directory and save the generated HTML file.
Step 2: Import HTML File into Safari
- Open Safari on your Mac.
- Go to the file menu: click File > Import From > Bookmarks HTML File...
- Navigate to the exported HTML file and click Import.
- Safari will create a new folder named "Imported" containing your organized folders.
The Browser-Independent Alternative
To avoid exporting and importing HTML files every time you switch devices or browsers, store your bookmarks on MostVisitedBookmark. It works instantly on Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and mobile screens without export steps.
